After only 2 months of operation, the NH Chapter received the NSCIA’s Outstanding New Chapter Award for 2002. The award is given to "The Chapter chartered within the previous two years and exemplifies the spirit and principles of NSCIA in the community, and demonstrates great promise for the continued solid programming and growth".
 
Eagle Tribune Newspaper ran the article "Woman fights to make stores accessible" about Chapter President, Lisa Thompson. This is the third story the Tribune has run on Ms. Thompson and her fight for the rights of the disabled.
 
Have spoken to over 900 individuals for purposes of public education and awareness to help prevent spinal cord injury, and resource location.
 
Have given our Resource Binder free of charge to people with new injuries while in the hospital, to aid them in starting a new life.
 
Chapter President, Lisa Thompson was elected as a Director on the National Spinal Cord Injury Association Board.
 
Have, on a daily basis, helped individuals with goals as diverse as going back to school, through scholarship and financial aid information, to personal support, through meals on wheels programs and transportation to doctor’s appointments.
 
NH NSCIA now has representation on the Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Advisory Council in order to represent those in the state with SCI.
 
Chapter President, Lisa Thompson was elected to the New Hampshire Statewide Independent Living Council.
 
Chapter President, Lisa Thompson is a voting member of the Architectural Barrier-Free Design Committee of the Governor's Commission on Disability, which writes, distributes and enforces the Architectural Barrier-Free Design Code for New Hampshire.
