Lisa Thompson, CPA, President & Founder - is a Certified Public Accountant who has previously worked for one of the "Big 4" public accounting firms, KPMG, LLP in Boston. For four years, she worked on SEC banking clients in New England, Germany and the Netherlands. A motor vehicle accident in November 2000 resulted in a spinal cord injury. Finding little in the way of services in New Hampshire drove her to establish the New Hampshire Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association. Lisa is also the vice chair of the Governorís Commission on Disability Architectural Barrier-Free Design Committee, the Chair of the Administration Committee and 2nd Vice Chair for the Statewide Independent Living Council, a member of the State Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Advisory Council, a member of the Advisory board to the New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center and The Center for Rehabilitation at Boston Medical Center.
 
Joan Nelson, Executive Director - Joan is a graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Computers, and a Minor in Mathematics.† In 2004 she received her Master in Business Administration from Franklin Pierce College.† Joan has worked with a variety of non-profit organizations and State agencies throughout New Hampshire for the last 10 years. †††Her professional experience is in business consulting, financials, internet marketing and business operations.† Currently she is the Vice Chair person of Dog Guide Users of New Hampshire, helping to promote Service Dogs for handlers with physical disabilities.† †She enjoys music, and the arts, and spending her free time in the great outdoors with her family, friends, and her golden retriever guide, Nugget.† Working to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities†has always been a†major part of Joanís†professional and personal goals.
 
Dawn Calautti, Director - has been a Physical Therapy Assistant for over 15 years. The majority of her experience has been in the treatment of individuals with neurological disorders that are the result of a spinal cord injury, stroke, Guilliane-Barre, multiple sclerosis, etc. She is currently employed on the Neuro Team in the outpatient, physical therapy department at Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem, New Hampshire. As a Director on the NH NSCIA, Dawn is looking forward to being part of a team whose goal is to promote change to improve the quality of life for people with spinal cord injury in New Hampshire.
 
Jen Boisvert, Director - graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science. She previously worked at Enterasys Networks, Inc., a Cabletron Systems, Inc. company as a Legal Assistant. Jen suffered a cervical spinal cord injury from an automobile accident in June 2001. She currently attends Northeast Rehabilitation hospital five days a week for physical therapy. Jen joined the NH NSCIA to help make life more enjoyable, fulfilling and a little easier for New Hampshire residents with disabilities.
 
Denise Sampson, Director - is an active incomplete quad. Her injury resulted from an auto-train accident in 1975, in Massachusetts. No longer able to be a Certified Dental Assistant, she worked in Social Services at Lakeville Hospital for a year, where she initiated an Independent Living Council. She established a live in relationship in 1980. In 1989, she moved to Tennessee, as a home maker, and resided there for seventeen years. After ending her relationship, she relocated to New Hampshire in November of 2004. She is also a member of The Architectural Barrier Free Design Committee of the Governorís Commission on Disability. She has been invited to sit in at meetings with The State Independent Living Council, and is awaiting a vote from the Governor's Council for a permanent seat. She believes that she will be a positive addition, contributing her experiences, to those in need.
 
Cheryl Killam, Director - is the Accessibility Specialist at the Governorís Commission on Disability, where she, provides educational workshops and technical assistance on barrier-free design requirements and the Americans with Disabilities Act; evaluates architectural plans and facilities for compliance with codes, monitors access improvements, and brings about code requirement enforcement. She serves on several task forces involved in policy making and civil rights, including the NH Citizensí Commission on State Courts, the NH State Advisory Committee for the U.S. Office on Civil Rights, and the U.S. Access Board Courthouse Access Advisory Committee. Cheryl holds a Bachelorís Degree in Education from Keene State College and is a former mathematics and computer teacher. For 20 years she voluntarily served on various advisory committees for New Hampshire, including the Independent Living Council and the Rehabilitation Advisory Council for Vocational Rehabilitation, the Governorís Commission on Disability and as Chairperson of the Architectural Barrier-Free Design Committee for the State of NH. She has been recognized for her efforts by the NH Statewide Independent Living and Rehabilitation Councils and as a New England ìADA Heroî. A polio survivor, she is a passionate advocate for equal rights and equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Cheryl enjoys spending time with family and friends, collecting antiques, and nurturing her garden at her home in southeastern NH.
 
David Qualey, Director - is a sales consultant for Ride-Away Handicap Equipment Corp. since April 2004. Ride-Away is America's largest provider of modified vehicles and adaptive equipment for people with disabilities. Dave joined Ride-Away because he wanted a career that would allow him to help people with disabilities achieve independence through mobility. David Qualey graduated from Bridgewater State College with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1994. He has been a Sales Consultant for Ride-Away Handicap Equipment Corp. since April 2004. Ride-Away is America's largest provider of modified vehicles and adaptive equipment for people with disabilities.
 
Clement Izzi, Director - graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Organic Chemistry in 1962. He held various positions including chemist, project manager, marketing manager, and long term President/CEO of companies in the Merrimack Valley. Retired in 1999, he developed spinal cord disease in 2002 resulting in paraplegia. He is hoping his business experience and personal spinal cord disease experience will provide help in achieving the mission of the NH-NSCIA.
